While some companies are finding ways to reduce the amount of merino in their clothes, we’ve used a revolutionary new Quantum Knitting technique to add even more Merino for even more comfort and performance. Our new Quantum range has a massive 107% premium merino! Find out more!
Like a lot of people, Stevi-Lee wasn’t convinced our clothes were good value. So naturally we figured she would be the perfect person to reviewer them. If we could convert her, perhaps other customers would believe her rather than the usual claims all companies make about how good their products are. Did we change this ioMerino sceptic into a believer?
I am a big fan of merino wool for cycling in cooler weather. I was initially sceptical about how well the jersey would handle the cooler weather given its lighter weight compared to other wool cycling jerseys, and have been pleasantly surprised . Extremely comfortable and fits well with the added bonus of lack of odour smell after a long ride (wool is extremely good in this regard).
Looking forward to trying on those very cold mornings.
I love this as a warm underlayer and very flattering tank, form-fitting top I have enjoyed wearing on warmer days. The photos show it exactly as it is. As you can see, it is slightly see-through in the torso which I quite like as I can have coloured crop tops underneath for subtle brightness, or other layers paired with it. As usual with IO stuff, it doesn't seem capable of smelling bad and doesn't have anywhere near the washing needs of tech fabrics (which I vow not to wear anymore once I've replaced my wardrobe with merino). If I sweat in it, all I can smell is a bit like Woolmix... Great top!
I love this top and wear it everywhere - I have it in blue, and its my favourite color of all merino wear in the cupboard (and I have a fair bit on hand!). Beautifully warm, beautifully breathable. Genuinely smells like Woolmix when I run and sweat in it - doesn't seem to ever have an odor. Rarely need to wash because it airs out just as well. Stoked!
Absolutely love it....first ever merino top & it definitely will not be my last......
Amazing product, sizing true
I'm so happy with all my Merino gear. I love the colours, fit & ease of wearing & am looking forward to the cooler months for trying out my new items.
Super comfy and certainly noticed better temperature regulation when wearing for running or even with dresses on warm days
why wouldn’t you get one of these tops.....they don’t stink and can be worn for days without washing (ideal for multi day hikes), the fabric breathes so it’s comfortable especially in the heat and the best bit is the flat seams that don’t cause chafing. If you are looking for comfort this bra won’t let you down for low impact activities.
I bought boxers and singlet tops for my husband who will turn 80 later
this year who has a blood disease and feels the cold we were on holidays
during the very hot spell and even temperature 107.2 degrees he felt good
,my son recommended your sporting clothing as he also uses your gear as he
is a runner. These keep my husband warm in winter and cool in summer as my
son said they would. I love how they wash so well and he wears a clean
change daily so they are constantly in the wash and they look and feel
great . Ok they are quite a bit more expensive than Bonds underwear but
after six months of using Io merino as underwear we are happy with the
I wear my Altitude Crew as a base layer biking in cold New England winter weather. Keeps me warm, wicks sweat away and when I'm riding I just forget about it, which is the best thing I can say about a base layer. I'm comfortable, warm and not sweaty. The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and the thingies that fit around my thumb keep the sleeves pulled down over my wrists and inside my gloves so my wrists stay warm. Also, the sleeves are quite long, which is ideal for cyclists.
It's just as good as promised. It's warm when used as a baselayer, even in subzero temperatures, and I use it as a normal Tee when the weather is nice and it keeps me cool. It's as light as it gets, I recommend. Will probably order others some time.
Only had them a couple of weeks but wish I had been using them long ago. The usual chaffing issues in erm sensitive parts associated with running in hot weather have just gone away. I have found them comfortable and gotten used to wearing them very quickly.
I saw a longevity comment in another review and I’ll just say that all of my IOMerino gear is hand washed - I look after this gear pretty carefully but it gets some serious wear and I haven’t had any wear issues with any of the IOM range.
I purchased these leggings for a hike to Frenchmans cap Tassie Australia, so i needed to be prepared for any weather. It rained all the 5 days but these leggings did not dissapoint. They remained dry and comfortable ( not sweaty) under my wet weather pants and dry n warm to keep on at camp. Great even on their own in the drizzle, they nevet felt damp of cold.
They stayed up, i find it hard to get pants that fit in the waist and butt n legs. The high waist was super comfy.
And they where cool to walk in when the sun finally showed its face.
I would recommend these leggings
Actually i think all the girls on the walk are planning on buying a pair!
Love this Merino super warm, incredibly soft top. Everyone should wear wool.
Thank you and having just been trekking in Patagonia my purchases were excellent and ideal for the changeable weather in the Torres de Paine.
I’m now about to leave for Antartica so I’m sure they will be great there as well
Very pleased with these as they are light and thin but very warm under my wind pants. A perfect combo for our New England winter.
Important to note that I am not a runner or a super active person. But I am so impressed, I might recycle all other pairs to charity. I literally wear it for 6 days, then one day in the wash. With two pairs of wool socks, I have narrowed my high-Winter wardrobe down considerably and have coped much better with the -4 to -11 temperatures. These leggings are warmer than any jeans or corduroy pants I was wearing last year this time. For the first time, I can also wear my wool dresses to work, as the leggings work perfectly with boots and a dress. Not maybe what you intended, but a great application for non-marathon runners like me. As far as fit is concerned – proper length in the leg means it does not ride up under short boots and socks when you sit down. The wide waistband holds in the tummy, much better under a tight-fitting wool dress than my old wool stockings. I understand garment construction and this design ticks all the boxes for me. Well done on great product development.
I love these tights, the wide waist band makes them so comfortable for compression tights and they don’t fall down! Just amazing for multi day hikes as they hold no odour and dry so quickly overnight!
the only problem i have is trying to get him to put them in the wash . He wears them for days at a time .Both the Altitude tank and the Keystone running tank are awesome .
They will be packed as part of him mandatory gear for the upcoming razorback run in the victorian alps.
Light weight, comfortable, great fit. Highly recommend this tshirt
So confortable, somehow able to keep me both cool in the heat and warm in the cold. Highly recommend.
I love all my IO Merino gear because its soft, comfortable, fits well. I especially love the colour choices.
Best undies I have found for running and everyday wear super supportive and comfortable well worth the money
This is my go-to tank for the gym and hot yoga, as well as layering under everything in winter. basically, I dont take it off. 11/10 tank top. Highly recommend. Great flattering fit and style.
Another great addition to my ever growing ioMerino collection. The cost per wear is tiny.
So comfy, fit well, not constantly readjusting, not hot even for summer runs, will also be great for winter.
Thank you for helping me out to get the correct size, the exchange was hassle free and hoody fleece feels superfine and nice on the skin. 5 star service baby !
I once bought a product on sale and fell in love with it. Lost it in a move. Finally found again and realized the company was on Australia but still ordered. Amazed at personal service and communication to make things right. Will continue to order and reccomend. Customer service amazing
Perfect thermal layer. Merino is simply the best material, and this one adds style and comfort too. My old synthetic thermals are getting biffed.
I have been drooling over the Mongrel tops for some time and finally bought myself one. It was everything I had hoped for! Not only is it really warm, it has a long body and sleeves which is perfect for tall, lanky me, AND it is so good looking!!! I am pretty sure I will end up buying more of them just so I can have one in every colour :)
I am always hesitant about buying clothes online as I am quite tall and slim so often t-shirts are not long enough for me, or they are long enough but way too wide. But when my new altitude southern cross t-shirt arrived and I tried it on, I couldn't believe it! It fit absolutely perfectly!! Long enough in the body and the width and sleeve shape were a perfect fit. It automatically became my new favourite t-shirt. It is my go-to shirt when travelling. I wear it on the long plane trips as it is super comfortable and it doesn't smell!!! Even after 14 hours on a hot plane!!! I admit I will wear it multiple days in a row without washing it. Because I can! I highly, highly recomme
This is one of the most comfortable tops I have ever worn! Light, breathable, warm, non-stinky and it is long in the body which is a wonderful change for me since I am pretty tall. I love this most as a travelling t-shirt but also wear it hiking, running and mountain biking. I would definitely recommend it!! :)
I wear this all the time - so soft and comfortable!
Looks great. Super comfortable. I honestly called bs when I originally got told it would be odour resistant, but I have worn it for weeks without washing and it doesn't smell. Only ever need to wash it when it is visibly dirty. Have since bought it in a different colour
They are very comfortable, soft, and stylish. I get many complements every time I wear them.
Fit well and don’t ride up. Much better quality than some other merino fabrics that seem to fall into holes after a couple of washes.
Lived in them for 22 days pre/post & during NZ Venture 2016 (900+ AU & NZ Venturer Scouts & Leaders), loved them. Flew, walked, hiked, trekked, tramped, paddled - no smell, great fit and awesome comfort. Raved about them to fellow Scouters, told them to support a Aussie company instead of that Kiwi one!
Took suggestion from previous review and bought 4 pairs!!
I just wanted to say how impressed I am with your service and product! Trackies rocked up within a day. Love them and have ordered a 2nd pair. Thank you!
I love this stuff and it is saving my life at work and outrunning the trails in the cold mornings, nights , wind and rain where I live! They got me through 21km of trails last weekend in very cool weather I was very warm and comfortable!
While Merino is an amazing natural fibre, not all Merino fabrics are created equal. At ioMerino, we make our own fabrics, using only the best quality fibres, and to very specific specifications that make the most of the natural benefits of Merino. All of them are 'Merino rich’. No cheap blends passed off as Merino. No cheaper scratchy fibres or synthetic substitutes to save money. No unethical production. And each fabric is made for a specific purpose. So if you see something with a small amount of elastase or nylon added, you can be sure it absolutely needs to be there to enhance the natural stretch and durability.
It took every bit of our 140 years of experience in the wool industry to perfect our fabrics, but we think you’ll agree the end result was more than worth the effort.
Ethically Made. Ethically Sourced. Perfectly Natural.
