The Men's Altitude Crew Neck Base Layer is the perfect ‘go to’ thermal layer for just about any adventure and our all-time best seller.  It’s the perfect thermal layer for core warmth when you’re layering up, yet versatile enough to be worn on its own in milder conditions.

Tag-free, flatlock stitching and raglan sleeves help eliminate chafe and maximise comfort. The drop back hem and extra body length is designed for tucking into your outer layers. Thumb loops keep your hands warm and stop your sleeves riding up when layering.

This top is the perfect combination of performance, warmth and comfort.

Designed to be worn as a body tight ‘contact fit’ layer.

Very happy

Bought this for my husband: he wore in doing the 22 UTA course at dawn - he was very happy. Said it drew away the sweat but kept him warm. He wasn’t too hot. He plans to buy another and perhaps some summer stuff as well.

Great for cycling in the cold

I wear my Altitude Crew as a base layer biking in cold New England winter weather. Keeps me warm, wicks sweat away and when I'm riding I just forget about it, which is the best thing I can say about a base layer. I'm comfortable, warm and not sweaty. The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and the thingies that fit around my thumb keep the sleeves pulled down over my wrists and inside my gloves so my wrists stay warm. Also, the sleeves are quite long, which is ideal for cyclists.

Fabric Guide

While Merino is an amazing natural fibre, not all Merino fabrics are created equal. At ioMerino, we make our own fabrics, using only the best quality fibres, and to very specific specifications that make the most of the natural benefits of Merino. All of them are 'Merino rich’. No cheap blends passed off as Merino. No cheaper scratchy fibres or synthetic substitutes to save money. No unethical production. And each fabric is made for a specific purpose. So if you see something with a small amount of elastase or nylon added, you can be sure it absolutely needs to be there to enhance the natural stretch and durability.

It took every bit of our 140 years of experience in the wool industry to perfect our fabrics, but we think you’ll agree the end result was more than worth the effort.

Ethically Made. Ethically Sourced. Perfectly Natural.
