The Men’s Altitude Zip Base Layer thermal takes natural temperature regulation to a whole new level. It is the perfect ‘go to’ thermal layer for just about any adventure, especially if you’re expecting to hit a range of temperatures.  Zip down when it’s mild, zip up and thumb loops on when the temperature drops. The high collar also offers an extra level of warmth beyond the Men's Altitude Crew Neck Base Layer  version of this top.

Flatlock stitching, raglan sleeves and tag free to eliminate chafe and maximize comfort. The drop back hem and extra body length is designed for tucking into your outer layers. Thumb loops keep your hands warm and stop your sleeves riding up when layering.

This Base Layer Thermal top is the perfect combination of performance, warmth and comfort.

Ultra Trail Australia mandatory gear approved thermals.

Designed to be worn as a body tight ‘contact fit’ layer.

Drop back hem and extra length in body.

Excellent for golf

As the weather gets cooler, works well under a polo shirt.

Awesome hiking gear

I bought this one for my husband to use on a trek as I have one and absolutely love the softness and comfort of the sweater and it’s so light and easy to store in my pack too

Amazing

I just love the Altitude top. Today I went to Mt Macedon and did 17km of trail running. It was near freezing and threatening snow, with a light drizzle. The Altitude top did an amazing job. It allows you to start warm and then when you heat up it keeps you at a steady level of warmth. I love putting it on and feeling the wool against my skin. It is my "go to" top to stay warm, in any conditions.

SUPER COMFY AND SUPER VERSATILE

When it’s slightly milder I’ll go the Altitude T, but during Winter I’m a bit soft so will take the warmth of having a sleeve. The thumb loops help keep my hands warm if I’m going sans-gloves, and although the crew version of this top is awesome, I love being able to zip up or zip down as I get warmer or cooler. (I’ll also whack this one in my pack and pop it on over an Altitude T if it gets colder when I’m out and about.)

AWESOME

When my paddle turned into an "adventure" and I was still going in the dark in torrential rain with no jacket on - this thermal saved me from hypothermia - and it was really comfortable to paddle in - thanks!

Fabric Guide

While Merino is an amazing natural fibre, not all Merino fabrics are created equal. At ioMerino, we make our own fabrics, using only the best quality fibres, and to very specific specifications that make the most of the natural benefits of Merino. All of them are 'Merino rich’. No cheap blends passed off as Merino. No cheaper scratchy fibres or synthetic substitutes to save money. No unethical production. And each fabric is made for a specific purpose. So if you see something with a small amount of elastase or nylon added, you can be sure it absolutely needs to be there to enhance the natural stretch and durability.

It took every bit of our 140 years of experience in the wool industry to perfect our fabrics, but we think you’ll agree the end result was more than worth the effort.

Ethically Made. Ethically Sourced. Perfectly Natural.
