My Go To

In 2013 I was in the market for some merino wool undergarment as I prepped for my 500 miles walk across Spain on the Camino. For me, other well known merino underwear just didn’t sit right and broke down to easily. Being a backpacking instructor for years, I tend to stay away from synthetics since, on day 2 of a 21 days course I would already start to smell and there was no rescuing the garments. I found some io merino underwear and bras on sale and decided it was worth the shot.
Not only did I only take two pair of each for the 32 days I was on the Camino. I hand washed the pair I had worn that day each night. I put them through the wringer and YEARS later, I still have the originals. These became my go too for all my backpacking course, my International travels and eventually life. They breath is all weather (I only wore these in Thailand), they don’t hold odors, even scrubbing them with a course brush on the Camino didn’t wear them down, and they feel soft and comforting while being worn. I only wear these now and probably will never ever consider buying anything else ever.

Best merino undies

Fit well and don’t ride up. Much better quality than some other merino fabrics that seem to fall into holes after a couple of washes.

Fabric Guide

While Merino is an amazing natural fibre, not all Merino fabrics are created equal. At ioMerino, we make our own fabrics, using only the best quality fibres, and to very specific specifications that make the most of the natural benefits of Merino. All of them are 'Merino rich’. No cheap blends passed off as Merino. No cheaper scratchy fibres or synthetic substitutes to save money. No unethical production. And each fabric is made for a specific purpose. So if you see something with a small amount of elastase or nylon added, you can be sure it absolutely needs to be there to enhance the natural stretch and durability.

It took every bit of our 140 years of experience in the wool industry to perfect our fabrics, but we think you’ll agree the end result was more than worth the effort.

Ethically Made. Ethically Sourced. Perfectly Natural.
