Mercer SuperCycle

We’ll try not to talk our head honcho David Michell up too much so he doesn't get a big head, but we have to give him a bit of a shout out as he led the peloton home on the Mercer SuperCycle after riding 1,000+kms around South Australia in just 7 days.

The Mercer SuperCycle is a fully supported multi-day and multi-distance cycling tour through regional South Australia. And the 'fun' of riding 1,000kms aside, it's designed to raise money to help support cancer sufferers so it's also a very good cause. It's a team-based event that takes riders through some of the most scenic regions of rural South Australia.

After an early Saturday morning start in light drizzle, they went on to tour past the most picturesque and diverse countryside in South Australia, riding about 150km each day from Adelaide > Wirrina > Murray Bridge > Tanunda > Burra > Wallaroo > Clare > and finally finishing up on the outskirts of Adelaide - ioMerino home territory.

While the rest of us were sitting at our desks at work, David spent his week on a one of a kind cycling adventure, and of course, stayed warm and comfortable in his new Vital Cycle Tank (under his lyrca) the whole time. If you haven't had the pleasure of wearing one of our MicroMerino® layers, you may not know how comfortable, well made and reliable they are. By the time the ride came to an end, David had certainly converted a bunch of other riders, so perhaps it's time for you to give it a shot as well. The Vital layers are super soft, super comfortable and streamlined enough to add an awesome layer of warmth underneath even the most snug riding kit.

Massive shout out to all the riders who finished - and helped raise almost $400,000 for The Hospital Research Foundation in the process!
