Our Altitude range was originally designed as a baselayer, to fit close to your body for maximum performance, so it’s snug but soft, with plenty of give for extra comfort. If you’re usually a medium, for example, you might find the medium fits tighter than you’d expect because it’s designed to be ‘contact fit’ and look and feel like a second skin. If you’re looking for a more relaxed fit you might consider sizing up (it will still be relatively snug) or choosing another style.

The Women's Altitude Crew Neck Base Layer is the perfect go to thermal layer for just about any adventure and one of our all-time best sellers. It's the perfect thermal layer for core warmth when you're layering up, yet versatile enough to be worn on its own in milder conditions.

Tag-free, flatlock stitching and raglan sleeves help eliminate chafe and maximise comfort, and the drop back hem is designed for tucking into your outer layers, or sitting over bottom layers, with no exposed cold spots when you're on the go. The thumb loops keep your hands warm and stop your sleeves riding and bunching under your arms when layering. This top is the perfect combination of performance, warmth and comfort.

Made with 170gsm lightweight 96% superfine Australian Merino and 4% Elastane MicroMerino - for an easy four-way stretch and freedom of movement.

SIZE & FIT

Originally designed to be worn as a base layer, (is usually underneath something else), this is a ‘contact fit’ layer so will hug your body. If you don’t want it to fit, feel or look like a second skin, you might try another style, or go up a size, but please note: even going up a size will fit quite close to your body because of the fabric and cut.

Best Ever Merino wear

I have worn Merino for years with a big brand and trying Io Merino I can't look back, they are that good. Did not know what I was missing! The texture is smooth and beautiful, so comfortable and with durability to the fabric. The team at Io Merino are just fab if need to make contact and online ordering smooth and reliable process. Tip: I always wash Merino in wash bag to keep.as new and avoid snags in machine and handwashing is a great option too. I added two more colours as I live in Merino long sleeve tops in cooler weather bike riding or everyday wear as lightweight and warm and can layer easily without bulk to stay warm. So good having colours! and styles to choose from first time ever with Merino I have seen and to experience high end merino I never had before. Look forward to adding other styles for warmer weather..

Soft and comfortable

Purchased this top to wear while running in the cold during winter. I have been very happy with it so far - it is soft and comfortable and definitely keeps me warm. It is very thin and able to be worn under other clothing. Will be purchasing another one!

The only socks I wear for work, they feel great and never smell.

They are OK....thought they would be a bit thicker, pretty thin for the price considering they are made In Sri Lanka. Stitching seems good so far. My wool thermals are warmer though...

I’ve not worn this but tried it on and I can’t wait for warmer times to wear it. Although, if you’re a runner you may love it any time of the year . I have 4 pieces of IO now, 2 mongrels a Tshirt and a tank all surperb quality from fabric to manufacture. No more of that other brand for me.
