This hoodie has a nice soft internal finish similar to polar fleece, in fact I wasnt sure till I burnt a wee patch on the inside of the sleeve. The 'fleece' didnt shrivel up into a ball of plastic, but turned to ash, with a burnt hair smell, the flame extinguished the moment I stopped the lighter.
The hoodie is not overly cosy. It lets light breezes straight through, great for walking without getting too hot, unless there is no wind. Once body temperature rises with excercise and there is no air movement, the wool reflects some of the heat internally.
Ive worn the hoodie in light rain for less than half an hour. The hoodie kept me mostly dry, with a subtle increase in dampness. Afterwards the garment seemed to have increased in weight by a third with the water it absorbed, I hung it over night, inside, with a little air flow and it felt fine in the morning.
In cool weather this hoodie felt to me to actively regulate body temperature, not too hot, not too cold, just the goldilocks zone.
The garment has demonstrated all the properties of wool, without the prickliness, definitely a quality merino product.
Looks and feels great to wear. Light & comfortable in warm or cool weather. Nice to have some memorabilia from my SA Five50 journey this year 🖤 🩵 👣 thanks io
My favourite underwear after trying a lot of brands and styles (I have tried the ioMerino Briefs but not the Boxers, if that helps). Very comfortable, the right support for me, and I like the vibrant colours too.
Note I wear size 32 pants and Medium shirts but I found size XL was the best fit for my body and preference. I suggest buying one at a time until you are happy with the fit (and then buying a bundle or two!).
I ordered one size up as advised in the product description and it fits perfectly. I love the stripes. Have not yet worn it on a run due to weather but I love wool and expect it to perform well.
"I’m deeply disappointed with the customer service at ioMerino. After just a couple of weeks of wear, my Stride Track Pants developed holes. When I reached out for support, I was initially assured of a replacement. However, they later suggested that the damage was caused by 'bugs'—a suggestion that felt dismissive and condescending.
For a pair of track pants priced at $136, I expect quality and respect from the brand, not petty comments. These are meant for active use, not just lounging at home, and I expected them to stand up to normal wear. I wouldn’t recommend these pants or the dismissive customer experience that came with them."
