After extensive research and development, we’ve created a world first and totally unique fabric that combines all the benefits you expect from our high-performance merino fabrics, with the high performance of compression garments. Now you don’t have to choose between the breathability, temperature-regulation, moisture wicking and the odour resistant qualities of Merino or the fit, feel and performance of a compression garment - you can have both.

The sleek design and firm, contoured fit feels like a second skin, keeping you warm and comfortable, plus helping you to feel and perform at your best in the outdoors.

Importantly, these are merino-rich so they are fully temperature-regulating which means they’ll not only keep you warm when it’s cold, but they will breathe and insulate like all our garments do to help prevent overheating when you warm up.

Tag-free labels, flatlock stitching and a flexible and ultra-soft elasticated waistband, eliminate chafe and maximize comfort. Mid-rise fit.

Designed to be a firm, ‘contact fit’ layer.

Model is 6'2" and wears size large. True to size.

The BEST

Possibly the best thing I’ve ever done to my legs is put these leggings on!

Terrific

I’m relatively new to compression garments but a long time user of Merino wool and I am very pleased with the way these tights combine the advantages of both. I’m a cyclist and am most impressed by the quality of these. On cooler days I wear these over liner shorts with either a long bike-friendly pant or shorts over the tights. They appear to be very durable and offer very good compression which effectively reduces soreness and recovery time. As a cyclist in my mid-60s I appreciate them as an excellent investment.

Excellent!

I have been a long time wearer of compression gear from the start of skins onwards. I need them more and more for sore knees and back but discomfort is always a factor. My new Merinos are fantastic as they are so much more comfortable without any loss of support. I will find it hard to take them off this winter and am already thinking about a second pair!

Mixed review in the NorCal

I primarily wear tights to help support a knee issue, plus the benefits of compression are real, most of my tights are spandex / lycra (shiny) or polyamide / elastane which is cloth-like.
I needed something warmer, but not "long-john's" because I don't wear baggies or shorts over them. I use an inner comp short. Finished Wool tights for guys are hard to find.. most are made like underwear.
Be very carefully putting these on, I tore mine in the calf area, however I was able to repair it.
Since we are having a mild winter, I have had these out for my morning 6 mile trail runs in 33 - 37 degrees and felt comfortable in them. They handle the sweat by pulling it away and evaporating, even better than my polyamide Ruhn tights and it doesn’t soak it up like spandex or lycra. I recently ran them 25 miles in the forest with a temp range of 35 - 50 and I hardly noticed they were there. Did not have to adjust or pull them up, they just become part of you. Compression is just right, not rubber band like 2XU, and not flat like UA. For hard climbs and steep descents and everything in between I was impressed with the fit and performance.
My issues are:
The waist band - Even though it wasn't a real problem, it just doesn't look finished, it should look like outer-wear.
No pockets- An outside patch pocket or inner key pocket would be great.
Overall:
My goal was warmth and compression and these IO hit the mark. Aside from minor details, they are great performance wear for a relatively light garment.
I am a lot rougher on my other tights and never had a tear or problem, so the durability is in question. Since there is little or no competition in this category: Mens Wool compression tights, Im inclined to give them 5 stars.

Very comfortable; excellent quality

I have worn my compression leggings a few times since they arrived and have been very impressed. Just the right balance between compression and comfort. (Not to mention a great local company)

Compression leggings

the compression pants are absolutely fantastic. On cold mornings for cycling they keep you warm and don't allow the sweat to make you cold when you stop. They don't stink either. Great fit.
You also don't get too hot.

Fabric Guide

While Merino is an amazing natural fibre, not all Merino fabrics are created equal. At ioMerino, we make our own fabrics, using only the best quality fibres, and to very specific specifications that make the most of the natural benefits of Merino. All of them are 'Merino rich’. No cheap blends passed off as Merino. No cheaper scratchy fibres or synthetic substitutes to save money. No unethical production. And each fabric is made for a specific purpose. So if you see something with a small amount of elastase or nylon added, you can be sure it absolutely needs to be there to enhance the natural stretch and durability.

It took every bit of our 140 years of experience in the wool industry to perfect our fabrics, but we think you’ll agree the end result was more than worth the effort.

Ethically Made. Ethically Sourced. Perfectly Natural.
