Whether you're on the trails or the slopes, the rivers or the mountains, you're going to want to add a pair of the Altitude Base Layer Thermal Tights to your kit. Made with superfine Australian Merino Wool, these tights are incredibly soft and will help keep you warm when it's cold and cool when it's warm for year-round comfort, no matter what the weather. So when you’re out in the elements being active, your legs will stay toasty warm without overheating as they’re prone to do in stinky synthetics.

The Altitude Tights are the same thickness as the Altitude tops. They are a classic thermal leggings style and great for warmer to cool temperatures as base layer pants.

Tag-free labels, flatlock stitching and a flexible and ultra-soft ioMerino elasticated waistband help eliminate chafe and maximize comfort. The mid-rise style works perfectly with the Altitude Base Layer tops to ensure no exposed cold spots when you're on the go.

Warm and Comfortable

Purchased to run the Kosciusko 100km later this year and wore them under my jeans to a freezing cold night game of footy ... perfect, fitted well and very toasty warm.

Like them a lot, will give them a full when the cold comes

These tights are well made and I love the material. I have worn them around the house a couple of time. It is mid summer here so I have not had the opportunity to test in colder weather but winter is coming as they say... Very nice even at $105 but an absolute steal at the $50 clearance price!

Warm and comfy

Surprisingly warm and comfortable. At 178 cm and 73kg I found the large to be an excellent fit. It would be nice to see a double layer on the knee to maximise durability because that is where wool tights invariably blow out after 3 or 4 years and it would be a good point of difference from the opposition. .

Great Quality

I recently purchased these tights for my husband to wear during a multi-day hike in Tasmania. He found them really comfortable to wear under his hiking pants and kept him warm during extreme weather conditions.

Excellent comfort

Those Australians really know how to make a comfortable pair of wool pants. Totally worth the $100.

100% Comfort

I was initially sceptical about how comfortable these tights would be, but I feel like I could wear them all the time. They are great for keeping your temperature at ‘just right.’ I’ve been wearing them under jeans this winter which makes a perfect combination of style and comfort.

Nice warm and comfortable!! My husband really likes it.

Altitude tights

Super comfortable and warm for riding on the bike first thing in the morning, but don't get too warm as the sun comes up for those longer rides. Should've brought 2 pairs.

Altitude tights

These are very comfortable with a good fit and material. The rise in the waist is where I would expect it to be (I have other tights which are way too high). Similarly, the sizing is true to label. The weather has warmed since I purchased these, and I have not worn them in cold weather, but having seen them, I expect they will keep my legs warm when the temperature does drop next season. An excellent product at a reasonable price, delivered the day after I placed the order.

These are my second pair and are fantastic. Very comfortable whether it is warm cold or cool.
Easy care.

So comfy!

I got these for my husband and his first words about them were “so comfy”... He’s loving wearing them for layers and sleeping, as well as recovery after runs. Great fit, no chafing complaints, not stinky or sticky. An all round winner!

Fabulous! Sounds like he's getting lots of wear out of them!

Best quality ever!

Truly, I have never had any product in wool that feels so good quality and that I feel will not wear thin in the sensitive-wear areas. I am a Norwegian and grew up wearing woolen underwear, so I am speaking from experience. I can move with ease and I also do not feel claustrophobic inside too much tight stretch and itchy sweat producing wool. Thanks for making such a great product that I hope (since it looks like it) will last me many years.

Thanks Bente! It sounds like your very qualified to review our product. We're so glad to have met your expectations!

comfy and warm!!

I bought a men's small and it fits great (I'm 5'7'' 130lbs - 60kgs). Really warm and light - washes well - no twists or kinks like I had with the top that I purchased.

Great leggings

These are so comfortable! I have used them on long haul flights and out bush and they have been fantastic.

Awsome !

The softness of the materiel is extremely good & you forget you have them on . They do a incredible job of keeping of keeping the legs warm on a 1C or 2 C early morning row but equally keep you cool on a 18 C row. I did wear them on a 38C day but not rowing & despite my legs being exposed to the sun for over 5 hours, there was no sign of any redness nor did I feel overly warm. A excellent product that does what its advertised to do !! I agree with Simon, snug & sexy !

Great warmth for the weight!

Very pleased with these as they are light and thin but very warm under my wind pants. A perfect combo for our New England winter.

Warmth and comfort

Trekked overnight in these leggings - didn't even notice they were there, just kept me happily warm - and the scratchy bushes didn't create any holes - great result!

Lyn Macpherson

Hi there, my hubby is 39 in shirt size and 34 in jeans. Does that make him medium or large? Thanks.

ioMerino

Hi Lyn, Thanks for leaving a question. From the measurement you've given I would recommend a size medium for your husband. The natural stretch in our fabrics make the sizing forgiving so if you think you fall between sizes, or your still not sure you can really go either up or down a size. If you like your clothes more fitted go smaller, or if you prefer a slightly more body skimming fit go larger.
Here is the full size guide https://iomerino.com/pages/all-size-charts.
If you have any problems with sizing when you parcel arrives, let us know at customerservice@iomerino.com. We have a 60 day return policy and we'll be more than happy to swap the size for you.
