Our Altitude range was originally designed as a baselayer, to fit close to your body for maximum performance, so it’s snug but soft, with plenty of give for extra comfort. If you’re usually a medium, for example, you might find the medium fits tighter than you’d expect because it’s designed to be ‘contact fit’ and look and feel like a second skin. If you’re looking for a more relaxed fit you might consider sizing up (it will still be relatively snug) or choosing another style.

The Women’s Altitude Hooded Zip Base Layer thermal is the hooded version of our best-selling Altitude Base Layer Crew and Zip. Super soft, ultra comfortable, lightweight and breathable.

Tag-free, flatlock stitching and raglan sleeves help eliminate chafe and maximise comfort. The drop back hem and extra body length is designed for tucking into your outer layers. Thumb loops keep your hands warm and stop your sleeves riding up when layering. The lightweight hood adds extra warmth around your head and neck and fits under a helmet with ease.

Originally designed to be worn as a base layer, (is usually underneath something else), this is a ‘contact fit’ layer so will hug your body. If you don’t want it to fit, feel or look like a second skin, you might try another style, or go up a size, but please note: even going up a size will fit quite close to your body because of the fabric and cut.

Just what was needed. Warm enough, great colour, comfortable fit. Really happy with this hooded underlayer.

Wearing this today for the first time and I am not disappointed. Cold, strong wind outside and it is perfect with only a zippered vest over it. Expecting it's washing will be as great as the other items I have bought.

Excellent merino hoody

I had been looking for a women's hoody like this for a while before finding this one. It's pretty darn perfect! I am 5'6" 135 with broad shoulders, and the medium fit is spot on for me. It has a great contact fit with zero movement restrictiion. I'm appreciative of the unique gusseted seaming pattern under the arms and lack of seams over the shoulders for that because it makes it very comfortable to wear running/moving. The arms are a great length to use with or without the thumb holes, and the hood stays up on its own or over a cap. Additionally the fabric is very soft, light, breathable and doesn't need to be washed after every use, and the contrast stitching/zipper is attractive. Kudos for this wonderful piece of gear!

Best Hoodie in My Collection

I bought this hoodie a few years ago and was super excited to see it made a comeback. I wore this thing so much I eventually got holes in it. Money well spent and I was sad that at the time I was not able to order another one. Welcome home hoodie, you have been missed❤

Kept me warm all weekend!

Once the sun when down I wore my mongrel top with the tank underneath and my merino gloves and was comfortable going up and down all the hills even at night time. Later on the wind hit us up on the ridges and so I put my hooded zip top on over everything and that was perfect.

Hello, this looks perfect for what I need. Just wondered what the merino % is. Most products are (understandably) a merino % and a type of polyester % or other fabric.
