When most of Australia was in a lockdown, some for 7 days, some for longer, we put on a little Lockdown Nature Challenge. Here are the winners and if you didn’t catch the daily highlights, you can check out the videos below.
Congratulations!
We had so many entires it took us much longer than anticipated to go through all of them and choose a winner, but we finally managed to and it was this effort from Kylie G. While this competition was mostly a bit of fun during a tough time, we took judging seriously and based our decision on things like concept, originality, how well people interpreted the theme, and degree of difficulty amongst other things. And we thought this was amazing on all counts.
We also had seven, daily, random winners who were awarded simply for being a part of it all, and we’ve decided to award three more people as ‘honourable mentions’.
This jump shot of Nikki in our Stripey top would have been better if she’d been wearing our leggings, but nevertheless was one of the better shots of people wearing io.
This Mongrel shot made us all laugh. Very clever, very creative, and included one of our best selling products. Thanks for the laugh Penny and friend.
And we though this image was... timely. We love that someone who loves nature, and loves our natural products, thought to enter something with an environmental message. Well done Melissa.
We put the 7 Day Lockdown Nature Challenge together in a day, launched it, and honestly had no idea if anyone would be interested, and when pictures started being shared and sent in, oh wow did it make our day, and our week! We'd never planned to do highlight videos, but you and your pictures were just so fantastic, how could we not?
While Merino is an amazing natural fibre, not all Merino fabrics are created equal. At ioMerino, we make our own fabrics, using only the best quality fibres, and to very specific specifications that make the most of the natural benefits of Merino. All of them are 'Merino rich’. No cheap blends passed off as Merino. No cheaper scratchy fibres or synthetic substitutes to save money. No unethical production. And each fabric is made for a specific purpose. So if you see something with a small amount of elastase or nylon added, you can be sure it absolutely needs to be there to enhance the natural stretch and durability.
It took every bit of our 140 years of experience in the wool industry to perfect our fabrics, but we think you’ll agree the end result was more than worth the effort.
