It’s taken us forever, but we’ve finally managed to make a sock designed specifically for our trail loving friends.
Unlike the famous mullet haircut which is ‘business up the front, party down the back’, our Mullet socks are ‘business down below and party up the top’ with super soft, anti-blister, merino-rich goodness for your feet, and then a nice pattern above the ankle. It’s basically all the benefits of our epic, best selling no-show sock, with an extra bit above your shoe line for people who like their socks a bit longer.
Like our no-show socks, there’s the ventilation panels for even more breathability, padded panels for even more comfort, but with these there’s the extra bit up top for even more ‘oh they look nice’.
Overall the socks is 63% merino (with 35% polyamide and 2% elastane) but actually, the foot of the sock is closer to 80% because we really only added the poly up top to make the mountain pattern work.
(Merino feels great but it’s hard to do nice patterns with it on socks so we went with bit of extra poly up there. As you probably know, we hate synthetics and prefer to use as little as possible but you guys kept telling us you really wanted socks like these so we finally caved and made them for you. You’re welcome.)

Mid-weight, mid-calf length, unisex style.

Model wears size medium. Model typically fits into a size 7 or 8 shoe.

Work & Play

I received a pair of these socks from the Rockleigh 105 gravel ride. After a few weeks I found myself looking for these, rather than others, to wear for a ride or for work.
Comfortable as, so I bought a few more pair to wear for work too.

Perfect trail run socks

I love the mullet trail socks. I wore them for the first time completing a slow 14 km trail run through 11 creek crossings. The socks quickly wicked away the water and worked in synergy with my trail sneakers, leaving my feet comfortable and cool for the duration of the run and the commute home.

Great trail socks

These new trail socks are great for running the Tassie trails. Good looking and super comfortable.

Toasty warm and super comfy

I have A LOT of socks and these are now my favorite winter cycling sock!
I’ve worn these cycling in the cold and they don’t only look pretty rad, they also keep your footsies toasty warm
I also wanted to use them trail running but for that I prefer a tighter fit. I wear a size 40 shoe and I will go for a size small for my next pair instead of medium.
I did nevertheless use them for some hiking in Austria. I thought I’d only wear them for half a day as it was quite warm, but my feet did not feel too hot by midday so I left them on. My feet had no problems whatsoever, so I know they will be awesome for trail running as well. I really would love a mid-length sock like that!

Mullets deliver the goods

New Mullet socks are the most comfortable trail socks I have found. Heaps of padding for the long trails keeping the feet nice and toasty on the winter runs. The ankle cover is perfect to stop all kinds of stuff getting into the shoes. My new go to socks for trail runs. Awesome stuff from IoMerino

Great all rounders

Bliss for the feet. Reluctant to wear these out on the trails as they make such comfy van/house socks but I know with being wool they will stand the test of time. Wore them in a crucial part of a long run where there was multiple wet feet stream crossing followed by steep and rocky terrain and these beauties kept my feet warm and in great condition. Ladies probably best to size down for a more firmer fit.

Fabric Guide

While Merino is an amazing natural fibre, not all Merino fabrics are created equal. At ioMerino, we make our own fabrics, using only the best quality fibres, and to very specific specifications that make the most of the natural benefits of Merino. All of them are 'Merino rich’. No cheap blends passed off as Merino. No cheaper scratchy fibres or synthetic substitutes to save money. No unethical production. And each fabric is made for a specific purpose. So if you see something with a small amount of elastase or nylon added, you can be sure it absolutely needs to be there to enhance the natural stretch and durability.

It took every bit of our 140 years of experience in the wool industry to perfect our fabrics, but we think you’ll agree the end result was more than worth the effort.

Ethically Made. Ethically Sourced. Perfectly Natural.
