Less isn’t more. More is more.

Less isn’t more. More is more.

Some companies have been sneakily reducing the quality, or quantity of merino in their fabrics for a while now, presumably in an effort to save money at your expense. We personally think this is highly questionable, and that any fabric with less than 50% merino, shouldn’t be called a merino fabric at all, plain and simple. That’s why our Ultra and Universal range have 80% premium merino, our Altitude range is 96% premium merino, and our Summit, Vital and Summerino ranges are all 100% premium merino. And now, you can get our new Quantum range with a massive 107% premium merino!

107% Merino.

How can a fabric be more than 100% anything you may ask? Excellent question. The answer, is simple. Quantum Knitting - a revolutionary new technique that breaks the time, space continuum and something something something. Oh, who are we kidding? There is no 107%. The only number that really matters is one. April one. It’s April fools. Sorry.

The real deal.

What is no joke are the shortcuts some companies have been taking. It’s designed to pull the wool over your eyes, so to speak. Or the synthetic blend more to the point. Our 80%96% and 100% merino fabrics, on the other hand, are the absolute real deal. Premium Australian Merino. Maximum comfort and performance. You’d be a fool to buy anything less.

Fabric Guide

While Merino is an amazing natural fibre, not all Merino fabrics are created equal. At ioMerino, we make our own fabrics, using only the best quality fibres, and to very specific specifications that make the most of the natural benefits of Merino. All of them are 'Merino rich’. No cheap blends passed off as Merino. No cheaper scratchy fibres or synthetic substitutes to save money. No unethical production. And each fabric is made for a specific purpose. So if you see something with a small amount of elastase or nylon added, you can be sure it absolutely needs to be there to enhance the natural stretch and durability.

It took every bit of our 140 years of experience in the wool industry to perfect our fabrics, but we think you’ll agree the end result was more than worth the effort.

Ethically Made. Ethically Sourced. Perfectly Natural.
